Bottger red stoneware Pilgrim flask vase and cover, C.1710 / 15.

An IMPORTANT Bottger red stoneware Pilgrim flask vase and cover, C.1710 / 15. BOTH PIECES PERFECT DESPITE GREAT AGE. SUPER RARE, because I have rarely seen one of these, but when I have, they are either without a cover, or the cover is re-placed or metal. This piece came from my private collection that I have had for over 20 years, and before that was in a USA museum, and hence the black numbers sealed over on lid and vase. SIZE 6 1/2 ins high.

The lid and vase are different shades of red brown, because they were more than likely fired in different parts of the oven. I got this information from an early Meissen dealer specialist who has experience for over 40 years. Also, similar information from a top notch London auctioneers, where I showed it just for conformation purposes.
